We drove home on Tuesday from Newport headed north to go home through Lincoln City. We weren’t that surprised to find snow in the pass…but as we kept going down over the mountains, into the valley, we kept getting more snow. Hmmmm. We started going VERY slow…30+ cars in ditches along the way home including an ambulance! I started taking pictures it got so comical! I don’t think either Ammon or I had ever seen anything like it. Thankfully, after saying prayers for our safety, we arrived home 4 1/2 hours later (the trip usually takes 1 hour from Lincoln City)!
The kids were really patient the entire way home (thankfully we had a DVD player already set up for them to watch movies). They however wondered why we couldn’t just stop and get out and throw some snowballs along the side of the road. I didn’t want to tell them because I thought they might die if we did that…so we just hoped there would be some snow when we got home!
OK…here are some of the great pictures we took of our adventure home!
Once we got home…we had a lot of snow at our house! The kids quickly geared up with their snowsuits and started making snowballs to throw at their parents, each other and the neighbors that came out to play!
