The Grinch that Stole Christmas…

A few years ago on our neighborhood Christmas light tour Grandpa Larry saw a very cool lawn decoration of the Grinch. He had a sack over his shoulder and one string of lights was coming off the roof  and into his bag…the Grinch was stealing this house’s Christmas lights! He loved it! So over the last few years he always has been hinting about how he would love to have a Grinch lawn decoration like that! Amy looked all over and couldn’t find one to purchase...so…

This year Amy had a the great idea to make this yard decoration for him. It was a collaborative effort: Ammon was able to free-hand the picture on a piece of plywood. Laura and Amy helped by adding funds to the Christmas gift. Erik cut it out with a jig saw and then Amy painted the Grinch! As you can see it turned out great! I am hoping to post another picture soon of how it looks actually set up…but I have a feeling it’s going to be GREAT!

The reason the gift was given so early is because over the last two months Grandpa Larry has been bugging Ammon to bring down the projector so we could draw and make it! Each time we came to visit without the projector he would get more  irritated. Ammon finally talked Amy and Laura into giving the gift earlier so he wouldn’t be “in trouble” anymore. Little did he know…the gift was already made! It was great to see the look on his face when it was given to him. He was very pleased!
