A Family Celebration

Nathan's bday, Fathers Day, Dive camp 057

Continuing the Batman theme, we invited both sides of our family and cousins come for dinner and dessert to help us celebrate Nathan’s 5th Birthday! Ammon barbequed Nathan’s request – hot dogs.  We also added some sausages, salad and chips to make the meal complete.  It was quite a whirlwind of a day!!! Nathan definitely was thrilled with all the attention and he was adequately ushered into his 6th year of life!

Nathan had plenty of gifts to open today. However, the first one we had him open was from us.  It was our gift for him which we bought when we were in Korea picking him up!  I love this tradition! Each year Nathan receives a gift from his birth country. This year, we gave him a drum! Seemed appropriate for a 5 year old…they like to make lots of noise!  We hope that Nathan looks forward to each of his gifts we brought home from Korea for his 1st through 18th birthdays!  Nathan's bday, Fathers Day, Dive camp 062

Another very special gift that Nathan received this year was a book entitled, “Porky the Penguin.”  Aunt Amy wrote  and illustrated this very special book just for Nathan!

What a full and yet fun day! I look forward to this year ahead. It’s so hard to believe this will be the last year I will have him home with me (for at least some of the day). Beginning Kindergarten this fall Nathan will be in school half days, 5 days a week! Where does the time go? I am going to make it a point to really enjoy my time with Nathan this year! Before I know it, I’ll be posting his 6th Birthday Party wondering where the time went.
